Granite can be further named based on the type of dark mineral, such as biotite, which is a common type of granite. If the content of biotite and muscovite is almost equal, it can be called biotite granite. If the dark minerals are mainly amphibole, it is called amphibolite granite. If the dark minerals are mainly pyroxene, it is called pyroxene granite. If there are almost no dark minerals, it can be called granite.
